Math Pentathlon

We are working to re-establish Math Pentathlon at SVE. If you are available Friday 3:30-5pm and want to teach math games with our students, email sveptaprez@gmail.com.

Math Pentathlon is an after-school mathematics club open to students in grades K-5. This motivational program strengthens basic math concepts and skills, aligns with state and national standards, and stimulates critical thinking. Students develop important problem-solving and reasoning skills, while having a great time.

Registration Information

• $80 for the school year
• Free or Reduced Lunch Eligible: Registration fee waived

Meetings and Games

• The club meets on Fridays from 3:30-4:30pm, September-April. 
• The club uses specially designed board games and learning activities to engage students with varying abilities and learning styles. Learn more about the games by clicking the links below:

Tournament

• The spring session culminates in a citywide tournament. Each division tournament is held on a different weekend.

Volunteer Information

• The program relies entirely on parent volunteers. Once you submit the registration form for Math Pentathlon, you will receive an email invitation to volunteer. Volunteering is required a minimum of five times in the fall and seven times in the spring. If we don’t have enough volunteers, we cannot run the teams. 

• According to AISD policy, each volunteer MUST undergo a background check each scholastic year. Follow this link to register as a volunteer and give permission for Austin Partners In Education (APIE) to run a background check:
• Click “School Volunteer”
• Enter your email address
• Authorize the background check by selecting “I authorize” from the drop-down menu
• Click the “I agree” check-box
• Click the “Submit” button
• Follow the instructions
• You will receive an email from APIE confirming your registration.

Pentatlón de Matemáticas

¿Qué es el Pentatlón de Matemáticas? Es un club que se reúne semanalmente y utiliza juegos para motivar a los estudiantes para aprender matemáticas. En el Pentatlón de Matemáticas, los estudiantes desarrollan la resolución de problemas, la capacidad de razonamiento crítico y el pensamiento creativo, mientras divertirse jugando juegos.  Información de Voluntariado

•  El programa depende completamente de padres voluntarios.  Una vez que envíe el formulario de inscripción para Pentatlón de Matemáticas, recibirá una invitación por correo electrónico para ser voluntario.  El voluntariado se requiere un mínimo de cinco veces en el otoño y siete veces en la primavera.  Si no tenemos suficientes voluntarios, no podemos dirigir los equipos.
•  De acuerdo con la política de AISD, cada voluntario DEBE someterse a una verificación de antecedentes cada año escolar.  Siga este enlace para registrarse como voluntario y dar permiso para que Austin Partners In Education (APIE) realice una verificación de antecedentes:
