Spelling Bee 

For the 2022-23 school year, SVE will participate in the annual Scripps Spelling Bee and we are also looking into participating in the National Spanish Spelling Bee. If you are interested in supporting, please email b.ibarra@utexas.edu.

Parents: please check out the Spelling Bee words list and help your child practice these words.

Timeline:

• December 6-10 - Classroom spelling bees. Classroom winners will advance to the school wide Bee.
• January 20, time TBD - School wide Spelling Bee.
• January 21 - Schools report winner to Scripps, they move on to Regional tests
• March  - Austin Regional Spelling Bee

Let's encourage our young spellers to have fun with this and take this opportunity to encourage and praise our students. If you would like to participate with the classroom bees in December or as a Pronouncer or Usher in January, please contact our Enrichment Chair, Aileen Passariello McAleer.
