Adventure Dash Fun Run

Raising money now for the Fun Run on November 8th, 2024

For our fall fundraiser this year, we're doing an Adventure Dash Fun Run, a fun obstacle course for all students. When school fundraising goals are met, extra activities get added to the course. The Adventure Dash takes place during PE time on November 8th.

This is a joint school and PTA fundraiser that will provide resources and professional development for teachers, field trips, student enrichment programs, and staff appreciation events.

REGISTER

The fundraiser will officially kick off with a pep rally on Wednesday, October 30th, but register your child early to get the link to share and start earning donations.

What will the funds be used for?

SVE is committed to giving every student the tools they need to succeed. Our current goal is to improve math instruction and mastery across all grade levels and ensure that our students can confidently apply and discuss what they’re learning.

When teachers get the trainings that genuinely support their growth they feel empowered, supported, and encouraged to stay in the profession! This supports teacher retention which is also a goal in our campus improvement plan.

With your help, we’re raising funds to make this vision a reality. Here’s how your contribution will directly impact our school:

  1. Enhanced Math Instruction ($2,000): We’re focused on giving teachers access to effective math training and coaching. With additional support, teachers can engage students in high-quality math practices, moving from concrete to abstract concepts with hands-on manipulatives. Your support will help us ensure that every classroom has the resources needed to build a strong math foundation.
  2. Building Strong Content Mastery through Discussion ($15,000): To help our students become active learners, we want to give them more opportunities for accountable talk discussions—engaging them in conversations that reinforce their knowledge and support content mastery. With training in Kagan cooperative learning strategies, teachers will maximize instructional time with student-centered techniques that foster engagement and retention.
  3. Teacher Training for Success on STAAR ($2,000): Preparing for STAAR testing is a critical goal. We’d like to send our 3rd-5th grade teachers to Lead4Ward training, an intensive program designed to equip teachers with comprehension and math strategies that align with STAAR requirements. Your donation can make this possible, directly boosting teacher effectiveness and student achievement.
  4. Equitable Resources for Student Success: Access to math manipulatives and other resources will make a big difference in student understanding, allowing for interactive, hands-on learning that turns abstract ideas into tangible knowledge.
  5. Additional field trips and teacher grants.

With your support, we can create a stronger, more effective learning environment for every student at Sunset Valley Elementary. Thank you for helping us make a lasting impact!
