PTA Programs

The reason that the PTA raises money is to sponsor programs that benefit the students and the school. The following programs are funded and/or operated by the PTA.

After-School Scholarships for Enrichment Programs - provides financial assistance to qualified families for participation in after-school activities.

Cheetah Fest is our annual school carnival, which is held each spring semester. All funds raised from the carnival activities and silent auction go directly to the PTA to help support our school and students.

Math Pentathlon - Math Pentathlon is an after-school mathematics club open to students in K-5. Students develop important problem-solving and critical-reasoning skills and have fun doing it. This program operated entirely by parent volunteers. It is a fee-based program. Scholarships are available to students that can't afford to pay.

Spelling Bee - The SSV PTA hosts this annual tradition which is part of the Scripps National Spelling Bee.

Teacher Grants - The PTA offers two levels of teacher grants. Staff can apply for up to $125 per semester for items or experiences that will benefit their students. A single Annual Grant for up to $1,500 will be awarded to a teacher or group of teachers to promote innovative, hands-on educational experiences and provide engaged learning for our students.
